This month's Spotlight on Service features Amayah, Grade 11, a 100m and 200m sprinter who competed at ISAAs in the Netherlands last year. Injured at the start of the season, she became a volunteer assistant coach for the Upper School track team instead.

"It was really hard for me to watch the other team members run when I couldn't," she says. She now coaches sprint form and long-jump technique - and cheers the team on. "I know that I won't ever take my sport for granted again."

Her best memory: Noor, a long jumper she coached, winning her event at the latest tournament. Her advice to anyone choosing a service project? Pick something you are passionate about, "so you are intrinsically motivated".
