TASIS England's production of "Annie Jr." has received five National School Theatre Award nominations: Best International School Production - in the award's very first year - Best Ensemble for "Hard Knock Life", Best Lighting Design, and two nominations for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical, for Olivia and Lila, both Grade 12.
The show ran on 11 and 12 March 2026 in the Fleming Theatre, with a cast and crew of 72 students from Grades 5 to 12, a live orchestra and a "Good Boy" pet actor. The NSTA review called it "lively, colourful, and wonderfully entertaining".
"We went from quite a small production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to this huge musical of 72 kids," says director Mrs. Brymer. "There's a real sense of the community coming together through theater." El, Grade 12, was Assistant Director and led a 20-strong student tech crew.
For the seniors it was a farewell, and a chance to pass their skills down the year groups. Fingers crossed for this summer!
